"LOVELY" WRITING BY HOLLY HUDSON
With Holly's permission I'm sharing her lovely story about Princess Holly and Prince Finn. Holly read it to the class today and they loved it.
"Once upon a time there was a Prince called Finn. He was very handsome. I thought I had a crush on him. That means love. On right I have to introduce myself. Hi! My name is Holly. Anyway the Princess went to his castle. Hi! My cheeks are red. Hello. What is your name? Hi. My name is Finnlay. Nice name! Thank you. I like your name too. Oh would you like to come inside. Yes thank you! Wow! I love your home. Then I got a surprise. Will you marry me? Of course I will. So I said "Yes". Then.... we were King and Queen. We lived a happy life."

LIVING WORLD - PLANTS
Animals are out and plants are in! Yesterday we started learning about plant life.
We started with the parts of a plant and today we we looked at what plants needed to survive. It's going to be a fantastic few weeks.
Amelia had free writing today but decided to give report writing another go. A great effort Amelia.
"Flowers have nectar. Insects can pass it on to make another flower or the wind. We get lots of food from seeds. Flowers can be many colours like blue, purple, yellow, red, green and orange. To make a plant we use seeds. Plants can't talk to walk at all. Lots of plants are pretty".

MIXING COLOURS

Here is what we discovered...

Wow! What a day we've had. A huge thank you to Zac, Oliver and Lloyd for creating our Make It Monday challenge.
The boys HOOKed us in with the The Gingerbread Man story and left us with the challenge of creating a balloon powered boat to get the Gingerbread Man safely across the water.
There was a lot of WONDERing going on in Piako Rua today.
We EXPLOREd in Wonderland... we needed to find answers to all our questions. We are still learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

Our REFLECTion today included some interesting discussion about why cardboard boxes wouldn't float and why Mrs Kenyon couldn't use the hot glue gun to glue balloons onto boxes.
Thanks Zac, Oliver and Lloyd!
