EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR - GENIUS HOUR

In Piako Rua we work hard to be EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS.  

There is so much we can do, and share, with our class mates and teachers.  

Take a look at some of the things we can do.

Kazma has a real talent for drawing dragons.

Lukhdeep and Conrad are fantastic at building with the blocks.  They worked hard together to create this master piece.

Royce, Kade, Kyan, Cruz and Kaito manage to build this with their Lego.  They had to work hard at communicating to ensure everyone had a role.

GENIUS HOUR - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR

Today for Genius Hour, we focused on the Nga Matapono belief of being an Effective Communicator.

We could do or make ANYTHING we liked so long as we were being...

 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS.  

Conrad and Amon made this microphone to help people speak loud and clear at our Piako Rua assemblies.  Have a look at Amon explaining how it works.  It's pretty cute!

GENIUS HOUR - FIREFIGHTERS

Today for Genius Hour, our focus was on being Creative.

Since we have been learning about Firewise, we decided to base Genius Hour on Firefighters.

We have some very Creative children in Piako Rua.

GENIUS HOUR

Today we held our first ever Genius Hour.  This was an opportunity for us to show our teachers what we are good at.  There were so many different areas of expertise that we all have.  Some kids made pieces of art, some built amazing creations with Lego and blocks.  Some of us wrote stories and other put on putter shows.  

Our teachers were very impressed with how creative and competent we were!

We enjoyed sharing our talent with our friends.
