SAMOA

To continue with out study about Samoa.  Yesterday Mika's mum Bex came in with some fantastic food from Samoa.  Wow!

First Mika told us all about how to collects coco in Samoa with his family.

Bex mixed it with rice and water and created a beautiful meal for us.  Some of us were not so keen on the strong taste while others went back for seconds.  Can you tell from the photos who liked it?

Bex had also made some Sapasui for us.  This was a real hit with most children heading back for seconds.  Lucky for us she had made lots.

"Yesterday Mika and his mum bought Samoan food because we are learning about Samoa.  She bought Samoan chocolate and rice but my favourite was the noodles and beef".  By Keira

"Thank you for the Samoan food.  I just with I lived in Samoa for my whole life.  Can I tell you something? Can I have more of the food?" By Kaito

"Thank you Bex for letting us try the sapsui and coco.  Can you please tell me the recipe for the sapasui?  Sorry I didn't try the coco.  It didn't smell really good.  I also liked the stuff Mika brought in especially the maui hook". By Oliver H

"Thanks for coming over yesterday  I lived the food.  Yummy.  Those pots were pretty cool.  My favourite was the noodles.  I liked the coco" By Ethan

"Yesterday we had noodles for lunch and something else.  It had coco beans in it.  It was kind of nice but the noodles were nicer. Bex made it". By Harlem

SAMOA

We were lucky enough to have Mika tell us all about Samoa today.  Mika's grandparents live in Samoa so Mrs Kenyons reading group decided to learn a little bit about it.

Mika shared us maui hook with us.

We also got to see a Samoan book.  The book was written in Samoan and English.

Later in the week Mika's mum is going to come in and talk to us too.

Thanks Mika!

MIKA - OUR SAMOAN CONNECTION

Mika was so happy to read the book "White Sunday in Samoa" with his reading group yesterday.
It reminds him of his time in Samoa.

Here are some photos of Mika working in his Great Nannys shop in Sataua, Samoa.

What a wonderful experience Mika.
