AHIMATE PARK VISIT

On a beautiful day we went to Ahimate Park.  It was incredible.  We go to put a really soft mat around a native tree and place bark on the mat.  We put the bark on the mat to keep the weeds away.  My group took turns of who is doing what.  I had a really good time because there was a hill in the grassy bush.  In the grassy busy the hill was really steep.  By Amon

We went to Ahimate Park.  It was really fun.  We got to put mats around all of the native trees.  Then we got to bark on top of the mats.  There was also lots of flax, shovels and buckets and Harlem also dug for rocks. By Ryla


Today we went to Ahimate Park.  Also I picked up a spade and a bucket.  Also we put mats on the trees so they could grow properly and so the water stays in the plant.  Also I had a shovel so I could help people fill the buckets for kids.  By Skylah

  

  

        

 

REPORT WRITING - PLANTS

Plants

Flowers and trees are good for us.  We do not pull them out of the ground.  They have roots.  They are very strong and have petals.  Trees have leaves and trees are very strong.  

Plants need stuff to survive.  They need water and also sunlight and soil.

To make new plants bird pick the seeds up and it goes into their body and drops out and makes new plants.

My favourite plant is a rose because they are my favourite colours.

Plants
Plants have important parts like a root or a stem.  Roots suck the water from the ground.  The stem helps the plant stand up.  If a pant didn't have a stem if can not stand up.  Seeds make the plant grow.

Plants survive with water, sunlight and air and also soil.

Seeds spread with storms, wind, bees and birds.

My favourite plant is a sunflower because I planted it on Sunday.

LIVING WORLD - PLANTS

Animals are out and plants are in!  Yesterday we started learning about plant life.  

We started with the parts of a plant and today we we looked at what plants needed to survive.  It's going to be a fantastic few weeks.

 

Amelia had free writing today but decided to give report writing another go.  A great effort Amelia.

"Flowers have nectar.  Insects can pass it on to make another flower or the wind.  We get lots of food from seeds.  Flowers can be many colours like blue, purple, yellow, red, green and orange.  To make a plant we use seeds.  Plants can't talk to walk at all.  Lots of plants are pretty".
