TERM FOUR - RIGHT CHOICE DAY

If there's one thing that we love about Riverdale School, it's Right Choice Day!!!

The theme for this term was WATER FUN.  We swam in the school pool and the went down the water slide!

So much fun!

PIAKO RUA POP-UP SHOP

We set up a Pop-Up shop on Thursday morning to sell a few more of our crafts for the SPCA.  At the Market day we raised $311.  We thought we'd try and get a few extra coins for such a great cause.

It was also a great way for us to practice our money skills!

ART WORK - LADYBIRDS

Our Ladybird art looks amazing.  

Firstly, we painted the leaves on the background and coloured in the sky. 

Then we glued on our ladybirds.

What great chefs we are.  Our xmas cookies were AMAZING!!!!!

 

INDIA VISITS PIAKO RUA

A big thank you to Rudra's mum for coming to school today and teaching us a little about India. Did you know it takes 38 hours to fly from New Zealand to India.  Rudra's grandparents come all that way to visit him twice a year.  Rudra was born in NZ but he goes back to India every second year to see his family.

Rudra and his family are Hindu.  His mum is from the state of Rajasghan.

 

We were allowed to try an Indian snack called pakoras.  It is made of onion and potato.  

Rudra's mum has about 30 different sari.  She let us try some of them on.  

 

 

 She also put a henna design on our hand.

MARKET DAY

Today Piako Rua held their Market Day to raise money for the SPCA.


Braxton's Auntie Katie is the manager of the Palmerston North SPCA.  She came to our Market Day and brought her dog Indi.  Indi was a HUGE hit!
