NEW ZEALAND BIRDS

We were lucky enough to read a brand new book today "New Zealand Birds".  Mrs Kenyon read us the big book and then we all got our own copy.  We decided to pick one of the birds in the book and write a story pretending we were the bird.  Check out a couple!

"One dark and stormy night a takahe called Hehe had a dark shadow looming over him.  He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him.  A few minutes later he was in a mysterious forest.  Suddenly the dark shadow was back.  A few seconds later he was eaten.  The dark shadow was a stoat".

"Hi!  I'm a takahe but I do look like a pukeko but i'm not.  I also live on the ground but i'm so sad that i'm the only boy one left.  I eat tussock trees".
